DISC® Profile

The DISC Profile provides participants with the opportunity to develop new skills and insights which will assist them in achieving higher levels of competence, commitment, and cooperation when working with associates and clients. By understanding the differences of others this half-day workshop is an effective teambuilding tool for the personal and professional development of each team member. Utilizing the self-directed, learning instrument called the DiSC Profile (Personal Profile System) participants will be provided with tools to increase their professional competence in improving relationships with associates and customers.

The DISC Profile can help associates at all levels:
  • understand their own behavior
  • improve communication
  • enhance individual and team performance
  • learn how and when to adapt their behavior
  • promote appreciation of differences
  • reduce conflict
Each of us acquires distinct ways of thinking, feeling, and acting which reflect our core patterns and individual identity. The demands of the work environment sometimes require different responses that become our work behavior style. The DISC profile is designed to help organization members better understand their own behavior patterns and the behavior styles of others in the work environment. This tool not only assists in the understanding of one's own behavioral style and the environment most conducive to success, but also the differences of others and the environment they require for maximum teamwork and productivity within the work organization.

The DISC Profile provides non-judgmental language for exploring behavioral issues across four primary dimensions:

Dominance: Direct and Decisive. D's are strong-willed, strong-minded people who like accepting challenges, taking action, and getting immediate results.

Influence: Optimistic and Outgoing. I's are "people-people" who like participating on teams, sharing ideas, energizing, and entertaining others.

Steadiness: Sympathetic and Cooperative. S's are helpful people who like working behind the scenes, performing in consistent and predictable ways, and being good listeners.

Conscientiousness: Concerned and Correct. C's are sticklers for quality and like planning ahead, employing systematic approaches, and checking and re-checking for accuracy.

This program provides the core elements necessary to improve each team member's communication ability as well as increase understanding of each other's personal attributes and behavioral style. This program also assists participants in better understanding the importance of their team's composite group strengths and development needs.
